Ten Commandments for Anti-Aging

I was browsing through Allure´s website a couple of days ago and found this very interesting article for anti-aging. I´m still twenty something but the sooner you start caring for yourself the more you prolong your youthful looks. So I decided to post it with my comments on each commandment.

Take a look:

1. WEAR SUNSCREEN—AND NOT JUST AT THE BEACH
Apply a sunscreen that contains both UVA and UVB protection everyday, specially to the most sun exposed areas: face, arms, hands and decolletage. Also tanning in the sun and getting sunburned is not glamourous, it´s skin damage! With all the sunless tanners we have available these days there is no excuse!

2. QUIT SMOKING
Smokers stink! Smoking not only causes cancer,it destroys collagen and elastin which helps keep your skin looking younger and firm.

3. USE A RETINOID
It helps improve the appearance of fine lines and age spots.

4. STAY HYDRATED
Keeping you body hydrated makes your skin look better, and this means drinking more water, not sodas, tea, or coffee!

5. SLEEP WELL
Adults need 7 - 9 hours of sleep, so get your beauty rest!

6. MAINTAIN A HEALTHY WEIGHT
Try to find your ideal weight, and stop making crazy diets, loosing and then gaining weight reduces skin´s elasticity.

7. EAT RIGHT
Eat your vegatables, fruits, nuts, eat fish as it contains EPA (Eicosapentaenoic acid), an ingredient that plays a role in skin care. Also drink green tea and stay away from sugar and alcohol!

8. GET MOVING
Do I  have to explain this? Just Exercise!

9. TRY TO RELAX
This one is very important to me, stress can cause you to age faster so do whatever you can to take some time for yourself and relax!

10. DON'T PICK
If you have acne don´t pick on it, go to your dermatologist and find the best solution for you.

Still from Breakfast at Tiffany's

What are you doing to stay young?
